Catfish mainly hunt at night because they can see & smell better than most fish.They prefer the cover of darkness to catch fish off guard & when most fish r least active.During the day they will feed if food is put in front of them conveniently enough.
Places to find them in really hot weather during the day would be under submerged logs & steep drop offs.Places where creeks & rivers run into lakes or ponds r always good too.When it is this hot they will stay in the deepest parts of the lake or pond.

How to catch them,wear a hat and sun cream during the day. Night fish with as smelly a bait as possible to attract them,once they take the bait. HANG ON a big one will give you a great fight. Happy hunting
