l wanna catch catfish but l want one thatis about 12 inches what kind of baitt should l use

usally if you catch a catfish thats a foot or less its a yellowbelly or mudcat. just put some hot dog or a little bit a fresh cut bait on a size two treble and cast oe with a pretty heavy weight so it gets down to the bottom fast before and little fish can eat it.

hey man, with catfish just keep it simple. u can use many many different types of baits but two to them all. either stink dough bait or plain ol chicken liver. with both use a regular sized trebble hook & put the bait on the hook & let it sit on the bottom. no special rigging just hook small wieght just to get it too the bottom & a bobber ''if u want a bobber'' l prefer watching the line & the pole. makes it a little more sportting. but wither dough baits or chicken livers work great good luck good fishin be safe & have fun

Use some cut up fish as bait, whatever kind of small fish you can catch that is legal to use where you go fishing. Small minnows work well too. Make sure to fish close to the bottom and use a weight to hold your place if there is any current around. Usually the smaller baits produce smaller fish. Good luck.
