l live in Parkersburg, WV.

l just got back today from a camping trip to Blackwater Falls. l fished Pendelton Lake and the Blackwater River (used both fly rod, reel, and bait, and an open reel with a variety of baits). l was only able to hook 1 trout on my fly reel in 3 days of fishing. l am looking for an area to fish in WV that has some nice size bass in it.l really would prefer a good lake to go to.

l have fished Cedar Lakes in Fairplains, WVand reeled in a couple, but that is about all the luck l have had.

l do not have a boat, so that really limits my fishing. If you know of anywhere to catch some nice ones (l do not intend to keep them), PLEASE let me know!

With so many places to go it is hard to say - try this link & surf thru the sight to find a place near you.

You can not go wrong with night crawlers & 8-10 lb line.and a spinning rod & reel (Garcia mitchell or decent shimano)

With a fly rod have u tried a ''muddler minnow pattern'' ?
Also r u matching the hatch? Using flies that look similiar to those u see emerging from the water or maybe scooping some seaweed & mud from the bottom to see what bugs r living in the water & using nymphs?

For bass there r many mouse patterns or again the muddler.
